WELCOME
Halligan Knives has been around for a good many years, and I have been around for over seventy years myself . Now it's time for me to have a little time for myself . I will no longer be taking any orders . Instead I will make what ever design intrigues me , taking as long as it takes to acomplish my goal . They will then be offered for immediate sale with no waiting . Any knife on this site will be available . Knives will be removed after a sale and only available knives will be kept on this site . Hopefully this will work well for all concerned Welcome to the new ,

My interest in customknives started in 1985 , working on them part time while working at Delta Air Lines as a mechanic .
In 1990 I became a member of the Knifemakers Guild , making straight and folding knives . During that same year with the help of my good friend John Cross an ABS Mastersmith , I learned the art of Bladesmithing and Damascus Steel making
|
In 1992 after 37 years of service I retired from Delta Air Lines , and became a full time knifemaker . I joined the American Bladesmith Society that same year and went on to earn my Journeyman Smith rating in 1994 . I was eligible to take my Mastersmith test in 1996 . I took and passed my Mastersmith test that same year and while doing so won the B.R.Hughes award for Best Knife By a Mastersmith .

I am the inventor of the patented K.I.S.S. knife . K.I.S.S. stands for Keep it Super Simple , and is my registered trade mark . I designed the knife in 1996 . In 1997 the design won the A.G.Russell award for the Most Innovative Folding Knife at the Knifemakers Guild Show in Las Vegas .
|
In 1998 Columbia River Knife and Tool put the KISS knife into production . That same year the knife won , Import Knife of the Year at the Blade Show . The knife and it's offsprings have been the top sellers for CRKT for the past six years . I am under contract to CRKT as a design engineer and more KISS designs will follow .
Thanks for visiting my new site , and may you enjoy what it had to offer.
Sincerely
Ed Halligan
